Meet Our Committee: Emma and Matthew (6th Class), Tom and Clara (5th Class), Conor (4th class), Lauren (3rd Class), Holly (2nd Class), Ellie May (1st Class), Tom (Senior Infants) and Joey Dolan (Junior Infants)

The committee will work together with teachers, parents and local agencies to enable the whole school community to become more physically active.

The pupils on the active schools committee have the following duties:

  • Playground leaders
  • Keeping the P.E. store neat and tidy
  • Making sure all the equipment in the P.E. store are placed in the correct baskets/boxes
  • Carrying out surveys
  • Reporting any messages back to their class teachers and classmates
  • Organising and helping set up equipment for Sports day/ Active Hallowe’en, Active Christmas etc.
  • Attending Active School meetings.
  • Providing updates at school assemblies about upcoming Active School activities
  • Acknowledging achievements

 

 

Working with Parents

The flag is a whole-school initiative so parental involvement is essential. Ideas for new activities to complement our Active School Flag initiative are very welcome. Please submit your suggestions via email to:

Working with Local Community

We invite sports clubs, athletes and physical activity providers from the local community to talk to the boys and girls or to give taster sessions of their activity and we constantly try to raise awareness of the huge variety of ways in which people can be physically active.
