School of the Year 2023

On Wednesday 7th June, 5th and 6th classes travelled to O’Reilly Hall in UCD for the Our World Irish Aid award national final.  The children picked up two awards on the day including the top prize: School of the Year. This was an amazing achievement considering over 400 schools entered this competition. Throughout the day, the children were interviewed for various media outlets and posed for professional photographs – it was a memorable experience for them all.

In the winning video, entitled ‘Bite Size Global Goals’, the boys and girls in 5th and 6th class tell the story of the United Nations Global Goals for Sustainable Development, and the work of Irish Aid in an easy-to-understand manner. The children also set out a range of things we can all do to make the world a better place, contributing towards equality for all.
